LCD Soundsystem komt niet alleen weer bij elkaar om Coachella te headlinen: de band duikt weer de studio in om een nieuwe plaat op te nemen en is van plan om uitgebreid te gaan touren.
Dat vertelt frontman James Murphy in ieder geval in een uitgebreide verklaring op Facebook. Daarin zegt hij onder andere: “in other, more pedantic news: we’re not just playing coachella. we’re playing all over. we’re not just having some reunion tour. we’re releasing a record (sometime this year—still working on it, actually), so this isn’t a victory lap or anything, which wouldn’t be of much interest to us. this is just the bus full of substitute teachers back from their coffee break with new music and the same weird gear”.
LCD Soundsystem kondigde vijf jaar geleden een groots afscheid aan, maar heeft het blijkbaar nu wel weer gezien met andere projecten. Het zou in ieder geval niemand verbazen als de band binnenkort wordt bevestigd voor bijvoorbeeld Lowlands of Best Kept Secret.
